Company Overview

Imperial Metals Corporation is a Vancouver-based mine development and operating company with more than 65 years of continuous exploration and mining activity in British Columbia. The Company’s experienced leadership team has a proven track record of successful collaboration with the local and Indigenous communities and the Provincial Government.

Established in 1959, Imperial has operated mines in British Columbia since 1991. Over the last 35 years, the mines including Goldstream, Mount Polley, Huckleberry, and Red Chris mines have produced more than 2.7 billion pounds of copper and 1.7 million ounces of gold. It wholly owns and operates the Mount Polley and Huckleberry mines and holds a 30% interest in the Red Chris mine through a joint venture with Newmont Corporation (70%), which serves as operator. All three mines host substantial mineral reserves and resources. Imperial also maintains a robust pipeline of exploration projects throughout British Columbia.

The Red Chris mine, an open-pit copper-gold operation in northwest British Columbia, is Imperial’s flagship asset. Our partner Newmont has identified the Red Chris Block Cave as one of its Tier 1 copper-gold deposits. Development of the potential underground block-cave operation is advancing, with access declines approaching the future extraction level. Ongoing exploration success, including the East Ridge discovery, may substantially extend the mine life and enhance the Red Chris mine value.
