Brian has been involved in exploration, permitting, development, commissioning, operation and reclamation of numerous mines and mineral properties including Red Chris, Mount Polley, Huckleberry, Sterling, Nickel Plate, Goldstream and Castle Mountain mines. In 1995, as President of Bethlehem Resources Corporation, Brian negotiated the merger between Imperial and Bethlehem. Brian was awarded the E.A. Scholz Medal (2007) for outstanding contribution to the development and sustainability of mines in British Columbia. Brian is a Civil Engineer (B.Ap.Sc. UBC) and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of BC and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Darb was appointed Chief Financial Officer in July 2020, prior to which he was Vice President Finance since 2017. Before joining the Imperial team, Darb was Director of Finance for Newmarket Gold Inc. until its acquisition by Kirkland Lake Gold. Darb is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 10 years of financial planning and strategy, treasury, accounting and M&A analysis experience. He has held finance and accounting roles with Jemi Fibre, SNC Lavalin, Exeter Resources and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Sophie was appointed Chief Legal Officer in February 2024 and Corporate Secretary in May 2024 having previously held the position of General Counsel and Vice President Risk during her tenure with the Company between 2014 and 2019. In the interim, Sophie was General Counsel for a dual-listed, international mining company focused on silver and gold production in Mexico and the United States. Sophie brings over 20 years of experience as a lawyer in both private practice at some of Canada’s top national law firms, and mining industry experience as an executive officer with primary responsibility for all legal affairs, including corporate, regulatory, governance, litigation and risk management. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Civil Law with Distinction from McGill University, and a Master of Laws in International Environmental Law with Highest Honors from George Washington University.
Appointed as Chief Compliance Officer in November 2022, Don is responsible for compliance with all regulations and contractual requirements for Imperial Metals’ projects including all operational permits. Don has held managerial and executive positions with Imperial with a focus on mine development and operation of Mount Polley, Huckleberry, Red Chris and Sterling mines. Don was a recipient of the AME 2016 E.A. Scholz Award for Excellence in Mine Development in British Columbia and/or Yukon. The honour was for advancing the Red Chris project from development to commercial production between 2007 and 2015. Don has been a member of the MABC Board and MAC Tailings Working Group. He has a Bachelor of Engineering from Memorial University in Newfoundland and has worked on other mining and civil projects. Don is uniquely qualified for this role, given his qualifications, experience and familiarity with the Imperial portfolio of projects.
Randall was appointed Chief Operating Officer in November 2022 having held the position of Vice President Operations from 2018, and Mine General Manager at Red Chris from November 2018 to August 2019. Randall held various positions at Huckleberry Mines Ltd. between 2012-2017, as well as President 2016-2017. He was instrumental in the implementation of the Huckleberry Main zone optimization plan (extending the mine life), and the permitting and construction of the second tailings storage facility (TMF3). Prior to 2012, Randall was Chief Operating Officer for JDS Silver Inc., Project Director of the Jabal Sayid Mine for Equinox Minerals Limited, and Minto Mine General Manager for Sherwood Copper Corp. Randall brings a strong focus on safety, along with over 30 years of experience in mine operations and leadership to this role.
Jim has worked in exploration, development and mining of various deposits within North America for over 30 years. He joined Imperial in 2009 as Exploration Manager, and was appointed Vice President Exploration in 2018. Prior, Jim was Vice President Exploration with Selkirk Metals and Cross Lake Minerals.
Sheila was appointed Vice President Marketing in September 2017. She has over 20 years in managing and administering commodity sales and logistics. Sheila joined Imperial in 1995 with the merger of Imperial and Bethlehem Resources.
